Many have asked why one wouldn't get up again after being knocked down, and whether it depends on who or what is knocking one down.
We've been taught to let nothing stand in our way - to get back up again and never ever let them keep you down! To fight for what you believe in, to fight for what we know to be right... to understand that nothing is freely given, everything you need, every dream you wish to see fulfilled - you must get off your own backside and make it happen!
But... what if your precepts are wrong? What if you aren't meant to win THIS particular battle - this thing that keeps knocking you down - no matter how far you get - it pushes you back and necessitates that you start again...
What if you are only meant to learn the lesson - and the same situation will repeat itself until you learn whatever it is you're meant to learn not until you have won.
Regarding my current situation, I have always thought that it was 'winnable' - I just had to keep fighting for what I believed in... and by being rock solid, the situation (and its associated players) would learn to bend around me and accommodate me - I would win. (After all Dr King made it didnt he?)
But (and I know it's terrible to start a sentence with a but) but lately, I am starting to think that maybe I am wrong - maybe I am NOT meant to be fighting and pushing forward- maybe I should recognise the wall for what it is: a wall - that I am not meant to break through - but that signals this is the end of this road indicating that I should choose another path.

I don't know the details, and I don't presume to know - and this is just conjecture - but I think you might only be thinking about giving up because you can - what a privileged position, if you think about it! That you even have the chance to fight for it! That on the other hand you can afford to give up!
That's probably exactly why you shouldn't xx
It depends on the Wall. I have to admit i'm still VERY lost as regards what you are talking about...maybe if you explain...
However the only impenetrable walls are other people, the human will is stronger than the very preferences of GOD who chooses not to override them.
An alternative philosophy is to use the weight (strength) of the wall itself to undermine it.
I hope you are okay and I really have no idea what your wall is. So speaking from a position of ignorance; I am certainly one for persevering but sometimes you have to chose your battles and remember than winning is not always everything. You learn a lot from losing too.Take care.
Hmmm, very interesting food for thought! I am fed for today. Whatever you decide, it will be the right decision for you; and, clearly, done after much reflection. How can you go wrong there?
I think there are many paths to any chosen destination; sometimes one path is appropriate other times not. Personally, I think much is gained from stepping away from instinctual / socialized norms of dealing with obstacles, such as fighting and breaking down barriers, and exploring new perspectives.
Being rock solid has its advantages; however, like that story about the mighty tree that broke because it couldn't bend in the winds of a very powerful storm; and the little tree that survived cause it could bend, flexibility can be live saving.
Take good care.
U don't need to explain to me what the situation is. If u live it u know it. I say this: If u can look up u can get up!
U can go over the wall, under the wall, around the wall going thru is not the only option. The key is to remember there is not only one wall and if this is not one u are meant to win the universe will provide another dream.
Only u can tell yourself NO! Don't let them determine when u say enough is enough!!! Remember in their institutions u are begging them and u know they do not always judge us by our merit!
All we have are our dreams. Dreams for ourselves, our lovers, our siblings and our off spring. That is our life source so u gotta keep pushing and asking them why? Why? WHY?
U know the odds. So with all dat ish against u ..Gwaan do yuh ting gyal.
No one can ever put out the power of a real star! EVER
"Our decisions not the conditions of our lives determine our destiny."
Sometimes walls pop up because the road ahead is damaged ... Other times the wall is there to keep the swamp in its place.
Often we think ...Yes wow the other side of that swamp is beautiful I want to go there or why can i NoT drive through this road when my destination is a 'few' meters away!
Some of us may choose to relentlessly face the swamp and the mozzies and all the icky stuff therein to get to that nice place and some of us may just decide hummm, I can do without the bugs & mud & the inevitable baggage collected by wading, pushing, pulling in the struggle to get to the other side. When one reaches a nice spot on the slog out of 1 swamp why should 1 not accept it especially when the wall infront clearly states that the rest of the swamp is even more difficult.
Difficult & with promised added wounds. Take the nice spot- build on it, expand & time will slowly reveal that one has expanded around the wall albeit in an entirely different manner.
This makes me think of the phrase "lose the battle, but win the war". There are times where you need to weigh your options, cut your losses and realise that sometimes conceding your position is actually better in the long run. Kinda like chess, if you think about it. You may give up a pawn, so you can get three of your opponents or even their king!
So, I would say don't think about it as "giving up" per se, but a re-strategising where you've decided to take a different path that will get you to your goal more effectively (hopefully).
